Update on my Apartment

Well, I was off today because of the storm so I decided to visit this other apt. it's a little further down from the other apt but it was worth it. The guy knocked the rent down to $525/month and we only pay electricity. However, EVERYTHING runs off of electricity. He says most ppl pay $80/month tops. Stove & heat are electric. I figure it would come out to the same amount if we had a gas bill. I dont know, I like it but the fiance wanted two rooms. I doubt we could swing $615 at the other place. I should call that lady back and tell her off.

electric heat can make your power bill crazy high. My ex-GF's sister got an apartment in college that was dirt cheap-$500/quarter in a prime location-but it was electric heat and the bill ran $250+ month in the winter.

My apartment is the same way with everything being electric. Our power bills range from $60 to $100 or so. this is a 740sq/ft apartment in California.

He said if you keep it at a modest temp it shouldn't be that much. What did she keep it at? Im thinking I can survive @ 75 degrees and just wear long sweaters. I'm used to it since my room now is freaking cold becuz of the danm windows

hahahaha.... you think you can SURVIVE at 75 degrees? dude, keep it at 68, and that will be plenty warm enough. turn the thermostat all the way down when you're at work, and keep it at 68 when you go to bed. i grew up near Lake Tahoe, and that was plenty warm enough in winter.
