You can get that fender from a junkyard in the exact color and ebay is the cheapest place to score the headlight.

Corvette is the only mainstream car i know that uses fiberglass body parts at this point and theres no way cheap ass ford would have the time to manufacture FB hoods (curing slows down the production). Knowing ford, the hood is cheap non-galvanized sheetmetal. I dont see any dings in it thought, why exactly would you need to replace it.

Oh yeah, btw dumbass, Corvettes haven't been made out of fiberglass since 1982. They've been composite plastics ever since the C4. Composites are lighter, cheaper to make, and are much more consistent. Look down the side of a 1982 or earlier Corvette, then look down the side of a 1984 or later. Notice how much smoother it is without all the waves that the older vettes have.

Also FWIW, buying a body panel in the same color won't work. The color WILL NOT MATCH, at least to most people's standards. Slight variations in metallic content, where the two cars were located and have differences in fading due to UV fading, etc. will make it look like crap. It still will have to be painted. The only thing you won't have to do is to paint the edges and interior if applicable.

If I'm going to spend the money on a nice car, I'm also going to have it repaired professionally. Buying parts off ebay and throwing them on there and calling it done is not professional and it will look like crap and it will definitely hurt your resale value.

You're fvcking retarded if you think thats how it works.

Car parts cost a ridiculous amount of money, a single accident can set someone back for years if what you said were true.

Sumamarily, what if someone died in the accident and you had the type of insurance that you're talking about. Someone would go bankrupt.

You sir, are a moron.

After seeing the pics I could easily see that being $1500 - $2000. A $250 deductible sure sounds a lot better than spending $2000 out of pocket. I've had to file a claim twice for my car insurance and neither one raised my rates. One time it was because some jackass keyed the entire length of my drivers side. The next time it was a minor fender bender.

Just to let everyone know, I was completely wrong on all or parts of this statement. If anyone was offended, I apologize.

Some PERSON felt the need to PM me about it, so here's my public admittance of stupidity in case anyone else decides to waste their damned time telling me that I was wrong about something and missed the line which says "at least i think that's how it works". Usually the friendly thing do to would be to perhaps correct me? But an insult just HAD to be dropped didn't it? Bad day? Pretty sad if you come here to take it out on someone you don't even KNOW!

RS: I would ask you to enlighten me on the finer points of auto insurance in the western provinces in our fine country but if your only contribution to this thread is any indication of what you are like as a whole, I'm sure I am better off without further elaboration. Have a great day! :)
