Ok so I had some Amazon gift cards laying around and decided to pull the trigger on a MyDigitalSSD drive. It was planned as part of my build last year but I never got around to purchasing it.
So I think I have done my research correctly but I was hoping you guys could look over my specs and reassure me that this drive will boot/function as my main OS and programs drive. So onto the specs.

i7-6700K
AsRock Z170M Extreme4 (url links to specs page)
16gb Corsair Vengeance ram
MSI RX480 Gaming X 4gb
EVGA SuperNova G2 650 watt
Windows10 Pro (on usb drive. Still sealed in box was a Xmas gift last year.)

Cool. Thanks for the reassurance.
It actually arrived today from Amazon. I was surprised at how small it is. I mean I knew by reading the dimensions that it would be small but to actually see it in person was a well...like I said a little surprising.haha
Anyway, I have Thursday off so I'm thinking that Wednesday night I'll give it a shot and see how the install goes. I'm sure if I have any questions you guys will have the answers.

Quick update. Install was a success. Had to do it over again because I wanted to go GPT this time instead of MBR. Figured it out though. Also had to bust out the AsRock cd and install the Intel nic driver before I could get network access but it went smooth.
Updating Win10 now. USB stick was on build 1511 so quit a ways to go. After Windows is fully updated then I will begin the long process of dl'ing my most used programs one by one and installing them.

Any suggestions for a good benching program? I've always used AsSSD for my regular SATA drives. Is it still a good one?

AsSSD is pretty good, should work fine.

Do these bench numbers look ok to you guys? I've done a little searching for comparing but it's hard to know.
Anyway, could someone take a look and let me know if this is inline with real world performance for this drive.

So I was poking around in the device manager and noticed the NVMe controller driver is from 2006. Does anyone know if there is a more updated version for this driver? I've tried searching but I must not be on my game tonight because I can't find the answer.

I don't think there is. MyDigitalSSD doesn't write their own drivers like companies such as Samsung does. However, the Microsoft driver you reference is not much slower than Samsung's NVMe driver.

Believe it or not, I was always used to installing Intel drivers for my SSDs, and I could never figure out why all my Samsung 850 EVOs were significantly slower than review sites and other users. I eventually had a member here tell me to use the default Microsoft driver you listed, and my scores increased to normal. So just because it is a 2006 driver, it doesn't make it inferior.

Chances are, with a 2006 date, that's the DISK.SYS block-device driver, and not the actual NVMe controller driver. I believe that one is under Storage Controllers.
