Update: Newest addition to our menagerie

Lifer
This is Molly. We picker her up on Saturday from the Washington Animal Rescue League and below is an snippet from their website of how she arrived there.

This pretty girl with the sparkling personality is a 3 year old Beagle that is 1 of 8 beagles that came to the League from a cruelty case in New Jersey through the ShARE program. Purple spent her life at a puppy mill facility where she was forced to have litter after litter of puppies. When the League came to her aid, she was living in a tiny rabbit hutch with at least 3 other dogs, where she was never taken out and allowed to run and stretch her legs, or relax on a warm, fluffy dog bed.

She is still a bit overwhelmed but I think she will come around eventually.

Update 12/08
3 weeks after we took in Molly the folks we adopted her from asked if we would be interested in taking in her sister as well. I don't have any pictures of her up yet but she is much different. She is very skittish but also very outgoing and is really fitting in well. Molly is still very withdrawn even with us but seems much happier now that Willow is back with her. We were sent a link to some pictures and case history of where our 2 beagles were rescued from. It is pretty sick and we can guarantee that 2 of them will be living much better now. Beware that the last few pictures are pretty graphic.

My stepdaughter adopted a purebreed German Schnauzer - recovered from a puppy mill. It's been about 2 years, and she's just not starting to be somewhat "normal". They should shoot the fsckers that do that to those dogs. :|

 for a fellow rescue society adopter. 🙂

All of our pets are rescues of one type or another. Our black lab Buster came from the Washington DC animal Shelter, our cocker spaniel just came running up our driveway one day. We put out signs all over the neighborhood, took out ads in the papers, and called all our local shelters and no one ever claimed her. 4 of our cats were feral kittens living in a storm drain that we brought in. The rest of the cats were all strays living on the street as well that we have brought in over the years. Personally I would urge anyone looking for a cat or dog to adopt, there are so many out there looking for a good home.

Doh! Fixed. 🙂

I really like beagles - she looks like a really great dog, and I'm sure she will now be even happier with your latest addition. The people who ran the puppy farm in that link will hopefully spend some quality jail time.
