Well, i've always liked this model and recently stumbled upon one on my employer's intranet classifeds....

TEXT:
1993 Nissan 240SX SE. All power options, air conditioning, power sunroof, alloy wheels, tires have 70% tread, brand new clutch, new brakes, and new Nismo T/C bushings. Dark Green with tan interior, spoiler, digital readout and digital Heads-Up Display, and JVC CD player. No wrecks, original paint, and I have all receipts from the first oil change and later. Car has 108k, Kelly Blue book valued at 3385, selling for 3000 OBO.

looks to be good buy...im curious about it, i emailed him and awaiting the response...

anyway, are these good reliable cars? i know there are buttloads of mods out there from reading around...

also, insurance, is it crazy high on these? im paying 175$ a month already on my 96' corolla, i really dont want it to go over 200$ month
i could sell my car for around 3500-4k$, it has about 100k miles...

UPDATE: (EMAIL FROM SELLER)

1. No, I am the second owner. The original sold the car after she was told she was getting stationed in Great Britian.
2. Nismo T/C Bushings, Nismo Stage 1 Brake Pads, Exedy Clutch, 300ZXTT Fuel Filter, MOMO Shift knob. It also has a brand new starter from Nissan.
3. I am selling it because my father passed away not too long ago and I inherited his truck.
4. All power options work except for one. The power antenna works, but the motor is going to go soon, I just leave it fully extended. The AC is cold and works fine.

The original owner bought this car when she joined the Army. The car followed her where ever her career brought her. I have the majority of the paperwork for services done to the car (oil changes, too). The only things wrong are cosmetic. The front and rear bumper have some paint problems, and there is a hole in the carpet on the driver's side. I have the origianl floor mats, although they are in poor condition, I have the Factory Service Manual and I replaced the dash so I also have the original dash from the car (the dashes are prone to cracking if you use amor all, must use leather conditioner). Also, if you do not like the MOMO shift knob I have the original shift knob too. If you have anymore questions or concerns feel free to let me know by email or you can call me at (386) *******. If I cannot answer please leave me a name and number so that I can get back with you. Thanks.

I had an 89 for a while.. I liked the car alot but it had a number of problems:

Timing Chain Became loose ... which would rattle around and ended up cutting into the water pump. This is a common problem as far as I know.
Fuel Injectors had to be replaced
Distributer went bad and was replaced
Master Cylinder leaked and was replaced..

I ended up putting more money into repairs than the actual value of the car unfortunatly.. However, it had about 105k on it when these problems started showing up. They are nice looking cars though!

ive read a few things about the timing chain...you mean the master cyl. on the clutch? this just had a whole new clutch so it shouldnt cause any problems...other stuff can go on any car i guess...

i like how they look, and my insurance shouldnt go up by more than 200$ a year, so far it seems that way anyway...im still waiting for a reply to my email :\
