Well, it's here, arrived in the Antec brown box. The packaging wasn't in bad condition. I opened her up and the padding was styrafoam padding. Took out the case and from a cursory scan outside and inside everythingappears to be good and secured down except for the slide rails. So far I'm happy and hope everything is working when I get the rest of my parts for my computer. God, I never knew a case could bring tears to a person.

PS. The thing is HEAVY, my word, I thought my computer was already in it! :)

GremlinHater,

That is good news. There was nothing wrong w/mine and the box was BEAT TO S**T! I am totally amazed that it didn't have a single scratch on it. Styrofoam is the man! LOL!

The thing weighs a ton, doesn't it? Wait till you get all your stuff in it. Finished up mine last night. Almost pulled my back lifting it off the table! It is awesome though. Did you get an extra two fans for a total of four? It's a tad "whooshy", but if you put your head in front of the front vents, it'll pull your hair...like the wind blowing. Awesome. A function of the case design to be sure. Antec did their homework.

How many IDE cables will you have? I wound up with 5 and it did get a bit messy. Ok, a lot messy. I ordered some rounded cables today. That will neaten things up a bit. Good luck, you're gonna love this case. Remember; bend at the knees, not your back when lifting heavy objects! ;) See ya!

I will be getting some new fans for it when I can, any recommendations?

Will probably have 3 IDE cables and then have to get more when I use my raid controllers as either RAID or another set of IDE controllers, until then...

Oh and the whole easy access door and slide out bays are MASSIVE COOL! I can't stop myself, I think I'm addicted on my first dose!

The easy-out HD cages rock. Much easier than sliding the HD up into the case and having to screw it in from the sides. Make sure you put your HD's in the cage w/the fan holder. THat's what it's for.

As for fans, I got two of the Antec BallBearing fans. They were cheap and the ones I have in my old Antec case still work great. Once I find a dependable product, I usually stick w/it. Good luck. Let me know how your rig turns out!

how do you have your fans setup guys? I got the 2 front blowing in (sx1030 case). In the back, I have the lower fan blowing in and the upper fan blowing out. I was trying to provice the cpu with some extra cooling air.

The most optimum I've heard but haven't done yet as I don't have my parts yet is to have the 2 front one's as intakes and 2 rear as exhausts, this will makes sure good air circulation comes across your motherboard.

Edit: I've been told fan filters for the front is recommended to keep down dust from collecting on the inside since you will have a lot of air movement coming in and going out which is what you want. :)

I understand what you were trying to do, but that one fan is working against the other three (four, if you count the fan in the PS)

I'm not any kind of engineer, but I do understand the principles involved. The best thing is to have a constant flow of air thru the case. Cool air sinks, hot air rises, which is why it's usually best to intake the air from the bottom front of the case and exhaust it thru the top rear of the case.

Imagine that you are air. (Bear with me....) You are being pulled into the front of the case by the two fans that are sucking in. As you enter the case, you are being pulled upwards and across the hot PCI/AGP cards, across the hot area around the CPU HSF and thru the rear fans, which are pushing you out thru the back.

I have both fans in the front sucking in (blowing onto the mobo) and both rear fans blowing out the rear of the case.
