This monitors specs look promising. I dont know if there aer any good OD coupons floating around out there... if there are let us know. I may just go pick this up even for 200$ Anyone have any input on this monitor? How is KDS's flat technology? Is it TRUELY flat?

Also it says that the max refresh rate is 160hz but it doesnt breakdown refresh ranges and they dont list them on KDS website. If anyone could find those it would be helpful too.

Hope this deal helps someone out. Its not super hot, but its not cold either.. could be made hot with some coupons.

I picked one of these up at the B&M store and I have to say for 199$ this is a good deal.

It is a TRUE flat screen. It's not as good as a trinitron, but it really isnt much worse. Plus it come with a 3 year advance replacement warranty.

Very happy with this monitor so far.

I used a 15 off 75 that I got on black friday (just by coincidence standing in line for best buy, that ran by an OD)

However if you want to order it online, there is a 20 off 100 referal link that you can find on fat wallet (are references to fat wallet ok here?) you can find it by searching the forum there for OD coupons


personally I would by it even for the full 199$ if you cant find the coupon (but its easy to find)

I also forgot to mention that the monitor is silver/ black. I think it looks very cool.

I have had this monitor for about a week. I wasn't sure whether to get this or the XF-9E (Max res - 1600x1200@75 compared to the same @60). I could not resist the $20 off coupon at OD plus this monitor looks sleeker than the 9e. I don't think this is a true flat as KDS claims it to be. If you look at the inner edges you'll see what am talking about. Out of the box the monitor looks good works fine but the smell emenating from it is overwhelming. One thing I have noticed with this monitor is that its blurry at 1280x1024 and I somehow seem to notice very fine lines in the background - It could be my aging vga with 8mb of ram (I need to upgrade soon!!).

P/S Its a .25mm dot pitch. The 0.20mm is the horizontal.

Ive been using this monitor for about 5 hours now... I detect no smell whatsover

Ive run it at every resolution, and I experience nothing but a sharp, crisp display. This is on a Radeon 8500 128MB Video card. Refresh rate 100HZ

1600x1200 is listed in the specs as 65hz but the drivers actually allo 75hz, and thats not bad for 1600x1200 for 185$

The only problem I have, is that on the lower right hand corner, the picture bows in just a little.....

It's VERY insignificant... any ideas on what this is about?

i highly recommend this monitor. the customer service is awesome- if it breaks they basically come to your door and replace it.

That is an older avitron model. Avitron used the trinitron tube

Xflat uses the Dynaflat

the only complaint I have is that the picture bows in a bit at the right/right corner and bottom right corner as well as top/right

I cant seem to figure out how to fix this. It isnt major but it is annoying..

its like the straight line of the picture gently slopes, but there is a control to adjust it
