I don't know if you have already rejected these options, but I thought I would toss these in. Have you applied to any of the Academies, much higher chance of flying. ROTC any of the branches they pay for school and officer when you are done. I was enlisted in the Marines and I think it was a positive experience, but all the recruiters I knew lied about what it was really like. I see one glaring problem with what you are planning, I don't know what your enlisted training is going to be after bootcamp, but what if your unit is activated? You can't finish college and all plans then get on hold. Why not talk to the college ROTC co-ordinator, finish college first then become an officer, you have your whole life in front of you you could wait 4 years. Basic Training (not Boot Camp) is not that hard physically if you are in decent shape to begin with. It is much more mentally challenging, to go from thinking about yourself as an individual, to being part of a team. This is the most difficult part of Basic Training! Anyway FWIW
