*update!* Interview tomorrow and I need to wear a suit

*Update*
I showed up and there were like 8 other people interviewing all of whom were wearing these dark black suits. I stood out like a sore thumb the whole time. It ended up being an interview day and I talked to like 3 different people and took a test. It was crazy. I didn't think I had a shot at getting it and suddenly I got the call! Woot!

----
I just found out I need to wear a suit to my interview tomorrow. Trouble is I've only got one suit, that I've never actually worn. It's light grey and the shirt appears to be wicked light pink (lightish red if you will). From what I've read darker colored suits are a better choice. I suppose I could run out and buy something new but I'm cheap. Normally, I just wear a darkish blue shirt and with a tie and some nice pants. What does ATOT think?

The Suit

To up the entertainment value of this thread, here's my other option:

The Other Suit

ok, the suit is VERY nice, get a white shirt though at walmart or target and you will be fine.'
as much as i don't mind a pink shirt, others might feel differently.

Holy crap you're in Coventry.

Oh and btw...you really need to just buy a new suit.

Yes sir I am.

Frankly, it's not the suit so much as the shirt that bothers me. With a white shirt and a nice tie you'd be set. My $.02 is pretty much spent. 🙂

Why are you surprised you needed to wear a suite to this interview? What kind of interview is it for? Job? News?

It's not bad looking suit, I was just worried that it wasn't interview material. I bought it for about 10 bucks in a thrift shop a couple years ago. Oh and I lied, I just remembered that I went bowling in it once.

that's actually what I was wondering myself.

Agreed, just get a different shirt. (I don't agree on liking the pink shirt though 😛)

Job interview, for every other interview I've ever done I've worn a shirt, tie and nice pants. I'm going to head over to Target or somewhere later and grab a white shirt and find a tie that'll look decent.

Sometimes I'd wear a suit to the office and walk around holding a piece of paper in my hand, just to get my boss worried up a bit. He'd think I'm quitting.

I see no problem with the gray set, but as already mentioned, you might want to just nab a cheapo white shirt and tie.

I wouldn't do the pink shirt in most instances. I wore a white shirt to an interview on Monday that I picked up for like $10 at Ross (discount store - whatever your equivalent is in your locale).

*shrug* I don't own a single suit and never had a job interview that required one. Long sleeve blue shirt with tie, nice pants and shoes is all I ever needed.

Suit and shirt look fine as long as you get a tie to match. If the company is conservative, i'd go with a white shirt. I wore my pink shirt and grey dress pants the other day and all the girls loved it...guys always give me crap about it...though they say i can pull the look off.
