Update:
Alexander Robbie was brought into this world at 2:30 pm mountain time. His official stats are: 6 lbs, 10 oz...19 inches. Both mother and baby are doing great. The girls just love their new baby brother. Right now I'm at home trying to get some rest, but am still pumped on adrenaline. It just keeps getting better!!!

Little background info: I currently have 2 wonderful daughters. I had little input on what their names would be (granted I did get to choose my first born's middle name) and my wife felt that I should be the one that names our soon to be newborn son, although, to make a long story short, his middle name will be Robbie, in honor of his deceased uncle (wife's brother)
The two names I have narrowed it down to are:
Alexander Robbie
and
Joseph Robbie
Both the wife and I like both of them, however Joseph is my middle name and it just seems weird to name him that, though the wife is partial to it.
I've always liked Alex, and with Alexander, you can't wussify it like you can with Joseph (Joey, et al. No offense to those named Joey out there)
So, fellow ATOT'ers, please cast a vote on what you think is a better name.

Joseph Robbie is nice. I like Robot Robbie, though. On a class roster, it'll read "Robbie, Robot." :D

How about Tim (Timothy)?

For some reason, there aren't that many Tims out there. Everyone is either named John, Joseph, Robert, Thomas, Williams or Steven/Stephen.

Alex isn't that bad since usually people will pick call him Al.

Be sure to consider your last name, too :) Do you know any other Alexanders or Josephs? Any gut impression you have based on that? It's ok to share your middle name if it is appealing to both of you.

is that gonna be his REAL middle name? Robbie? I always like Joesph Robert or Robert Joseph.

Thanks for your replies, kind of funny that the poll is deadlocked. Anyways, a bump for more votes, and a few responses:

Yeah, stoopid head.

It's Robbie, and I'll agree it's odd, I was also going with Robert, but the wife insists it be Robbie, as that was her bro's real first name.
Alex isn't that bad since usually people will pick call him Al.
That's pretty much what I was thinking.
Who is the kid's father? Name the boy after him.
Really funny Carbo!:)
seriously, i like JoRo for a nickname
Never thought of that, might have to put that in consideration.

Yeah, I made a joke about that to my wife, she didn't get it (not a football fan) Of course now that they renamed it...

Sounds like not too bad of an idea, doubt the wife would go for that though.

My Son's name is Alexander and it's NOT a wussy name at all, it actually means:From the Greek name Alexandros, which meant "defending men" from Greek alexein "to defend, help" and aner "man" (genitive andros). Alexander the Great, King of Macedon, is the most famous bearer of this name. In the 4th century BC he built a huge empire out of Greece, Egypt, Persia, and parts of India. This was also the name of emperors of Russia, kings of Scotland and Yugoslavia, and eight popes. Also, Sir Alexander MacKenzie was an explorer of the north and west of Canada in the 18th century.

I got a C in humanities and slept thru most of the course, but that appears correct.

Also, keep initials in mind when naming. Naming your child Joseph Robbie may have everone calling him J.R. when he's older.
