That would be awesome except for
1) He said up to $150
2) Trying to find this actually in stock will not be easy, will take hours of calling every OM in your state but IF you find it, it's a killer deal

why does it use "xD-Picture Card " ?

i mean, why are there so many different memory card formats if they are all flash memory based?

I guess xD is the successor to SM.

However I wish they'd use the "old" SM.

If you can find a Fuji Finepix 2600 that's an awesome entry level digicam which uses CHEAPER SM media.

You give him $100 more and he can buy the AWESOME CANON POWERSHOT A70 which is "all the rage" (for some odd reason ;) ).

I think you can find a Coolpix 2500 pretty cheap. There's a $50 rebate too. If you want sample pics, PM me...

Sorry Kevin, you posted 1 minute after TommyVercetti.

I meant to quote TommyVercetti who linked to the Toshiba and not you.

I'm not worthy, banish me!

I know you said no rebates, but keep in mind that HP has been running promotions for some time now where they'll pay you around $50 rebate (used to be more) if you buy certain models of their photo printers, along with any manufacturer's digital camera (above $150 value I think). They used to pay $25 more for purchasing their digital camera, but I haven't checked out the promotion details since winter.

So if you need a photo printer, or can unload one on eBay for at least a net wash, then HP will essentially subsidize your digital camera purchase. :)

With HP losing the PC wars to Dell, they should be only offering this nice rebate for purchases of their digital cameras, but I digress. :D

As you already know Techdepot has a reconditioned Toshiba PDR-2300 for $99 after MIR with free shipping.

Looks like price wise the Toshiba wins, plus it has video out and uses the cheaper media SD (instead of xD).

Another plus for the Toshiba is it uses 4 AA batteries instead of proprietary LiON's, you can buy rechargeable batteries for cheap!!!

Fuji 2650 vs Toshiba PDR-2300

xD is faster, smaller, more durable, and the format has a huge maximum capacity. It's not all that expensive, although it is a bit more than dirt-cheap SM or CF.

I have a 2650 and I really like it as far as ease of use and image quality... however, the zoom lens broke after about 5 months and I had to have it replaced (under warranty). :(
