edit:

Well I got my XBox. Decided to only get 2 games, my local EB didn't have SSX Tricky and I didn't really research too many other games, so for now I can live with DOA3 and PGR(WOW I love this game so far!) :)

you can save everything to your harddrive, but if you want to take a saved game to a friends house you need the memory module.

That's all I needed to know. Thank you! :)

The only time you will ever need a memory card is if your are transporting the save to another hard drive. Also although you can connect an xbox to another xbox you can NOT transfer files from one to the other.

I don't care about connecting XBox's anyway, I don't know anyone who has one to begin with. That whole friend's house thing was all hypothetical. :p

One less thing I have to buy. :)

Murphy - Before buying your system, you may want to see what all happens with E3. There are rumors that I see as credible that may lead to drop in prices for both the PS2 and Gamecube. The only reason that I mention is that waiting out may allow you to get a better deal on your Xbox. Microsoft really can't afford to let any ground they've made up slide, so you may be able to land the dvd remote with the system as a perk or something like that. Purely speculation on my part, but could be helpful. I am bias to none of the consoles.

You may be right, but I am not the type of person who can wait a month or more after I've already decided I want to buy something. :) (well almost decided)

I had considered using layaway but I realized I was just kidding myself, as I'd end up paying it off right away anyway. I get 10% off because I work at WalMart so that's already a bit less than retail, which will be worth the potential $40 or so I'd save waiting, IF the prices dropped, which IMO is a big if.

I plan on getting an XBox, extra controller, DOA3, Project Gotham Racing, and SSX Tricky. Tentatively, anyway. :)

I would suggest a PS2 with VF4, GT3, and SSX Tricky, but hey, whatever you want.

I would suggest you shut the hell up.

And as for the PS2 and GC dropping in price- the way I heard it was like the PS2 is still selling the best, so they are not looking to drop the price of that, and the GC is already at a low price so they're not quite as likely to drop theirs, but since the costs of all the xbox internal components has dropped greatly they are the most likely to drop in price. Still not a bad idea to wait, but for different reasons.

I R XBOX FANBOY! Micro$oft ownz j00!

You should check out the system seller in Halo too. Can't go wrong there. Almost has me tempted to get an Xbox just for that game. (I'm a lot of talk, I'm too poor to buy it, but I wish that I could.)

Actually, Sony announced that they will announce (interesting, huh? :p ) a price drop at E3.

<< and the GC is already at a low price so they're not quite as likely to drop theirs, >>

Nintendo announced that they were ready to drop the price of the Gamecube in responce to any other price drops if need be.

Microsoft is still selling Xboxes at a loss. Sure they could lower the price, but it would kill them even more than it is now. Why do you think they are charging $420 for them in Europe?

They selling it for more cuz the Euro ain't worth that much compared tot he USD.

Every system maker sells consoles at a lost. They make it up many times in software sales (licensing fees).

Ok, just thought I would suggest.

Virtua Fighter 4 vs DOA 3 isn't really an argument. Everyone who plays fighting games knows which game plays better. They also know which game looks better if you want to get into that argument as well. :)

Gran Turismo vs Project Gotham? They are completely different styles of racing games. PGR is more about skill while GT3 is more about building up. It would be like comparing Shenmue to Virtua Fighter or to be more extreme Ergheiz and Tobal to Final Fantasy. Some people will prefer PGR for the extra skill it takes to finish with all golds while other will prefer to get their licenses and build up their car to unrealistic proportions in GT3. I am a person who prefer PGRs style more. My cousin prefers GT3s style more. It's not something you can compare unless you play both games (which most playstation fans do not BTW).

SSX vs SSX? That's just silly. You know why the Xbox one got a lower score? Because the graphics from this port don't live up to the graphics capability that the Xbox has. Notice the graphics that get a 9 on the PS2 only get a 7 on Xbox. Notice also that the Xbox and Gamecube versions got the same score. The difference between control scores is because the reviewer was used to the PS2s control scheme.

I guess I should give more descriptions. :p VF4 plays better. DOA3 looks better.

I bought an Xbox ONLY because of Halo and I haven't yet regretted the decision. Halo is farking INCREDIBLE.
