And what people USUALLY don't realize is that Honda and Toyota employ UAW workers in their plants. So the UAW makes those cars, too.

Toyota and Honda workers are not unionized. Thanks for playing.

Call your co-worker over for a lesson in "economics"

then when he comes over, throw coins at him.
I would but he would just stand there and catch them.

the original owner did, however, now your are probably just contributing to an american used car lot. However, if your buying from a foreign dealership used car lot then you are hurting the economy b/c you could be buying american made goods.

Honda workers are not. Some Toyota workers are unionized.

In the USA that is.

In Japan.....both firms are completely unionized.

Escort GT.

Yes, but you have a mazda built engine in there! You unpatriotic piece of crap. Don't buy a Taurus SHO either...wouldn't want to be giving Yamaha any money for the engine under the hood of that car either!

Yamaha built the V6 engine, but on the V8 engine they only designed the cylinder heads and intake system, the rest is all Ford.

Good, I hate Unions. They have served their purpose, but are now just a drag on the system, jacking up the price of whatever they are creating.

Yep. Unions = teh p00!

I think that people ought to but what they want.

Having said that, there is an economic impact in buying a used car. By buying it your are adding to the demand for that vehicle. By not buying it you would be lessening the demand, which would result in the price going down. This translates into lower resale value, which would be a factor in the demand for new vehicles of the same brand or type.

This affect may be large or small, but it is real. As I said before though, I think people should be free to buy what they want.

Yes, you are hurting the US economy. If you buy a reliable car you're taking money away from the neighborhood garage. Be a good American, support your local mechanics and buy a Ford.😀

Given that I interned at Honda of America a couple years ago, and dealt with the UAW constantly, I would think they are. Thanks for playing!

I am a retired Ford mechanic and I wouldn't take a Ford or any other vehicle to a garage for something that I could fix myself. And as a good American I would rather work on foreign vehicles because most of the people I know that own them take better care of their vehicles. Instead of driving them into the ground and freaking out when the repair bill seems unreasonable for a three-year-old car.

Remember you get what you pay for and a car is only as good as it's owner.

i will bet you 1 million dollars that he has at least one thing that is made in china.....then accuse him of being unamerican.
