:Q

What a weird freaking day. It's rumbling like mad outside, and it's snowed like an inch in the last 30 minutes.

And my wife just came down saying she's starting to feel some pretty strong contractions.

I guess I better cut off the beer consumption in case we need to make a trip down to the hospital.

UPDATE: Labs came back from some tests over the weekend. She's got very severe preeclampsia and the OB's want the baby out very soon. She was admitted today and is in observation overnight.

Tomorrow morning she meets with the maternal/fetal specialist who gives the final thumbs up on the induction. Then she gets put on a pitocin drip and the party begins.

Things got real real...real fast.

The weather has slowed down...and so have the contractions.

Unless something drastic changes before the end of the game I'm likely not going to be loading up the car tonight.

I foresee a 3am baby for you.

But look on the bright side. You'll get Monday off.

Congratulations.

Im in the same boat as you man, my wife started having contractions this morning but they have not been consistent.

It will probably happen at about the time I lay down to sleep tonight and during the snow storm thats about to hit, after having been on edge all day waiting.

In the post-birth celebration, just don't spike the baby.

I just checked the forecast here - thunderstorms are expected tomorrow night and into Tuesday, with temps back into the 50's. Weeeeeee, the weather rollercoaster is fun!

You should have realized when she'd be popping a wrinkly little football out 9 months ago when you porked her.

Yeah, really, you gotta plan these things so as not to interfere with your game-watching!;)

Good luck with that man. Don't forget your breathing exercises...oh, and my wife highly recommends the epidural. ;)

Preliminary congrats, dude :)
My wife has been induced with every birth, and on the last one she finally went for the epidural. She ended up taking a couple naps, and crying once because she was so bored :p
She only ended up having 15 minutes of the TV-type screaming labor.
