Windows update keeps telling me this is available, but it keeps failing!

"Update for Windows Vista (KB942763)

Failed: 1 update

Error(s) found:

Code 80070643

Windows Update error 80070643

If you receive Windows Update error 80070643 while installing updates for Microsoft Office 2003, you might need to restart the Office Source Engine (OSE) service. Windows Update can automatically start the service to install updates for Office products if the service is set to the default Manual setting. If the service is disabled, you need to restart it, and then try to install the latest updates for Office products again."

I don't have office 2003 installed.
the only office product i own is word 2000 which came with works suite 2000

any ideas as to why this keeps appearing?

First, do you have Office installed ? If so, did you check the service it says is disabled ? ?

Next, this is only a time zone update .... see below:

This patch is critical for correct time for Australia, Arabic countries, Egypt, Israel, South America, Venezuela. However, Microsoft recommends that everyone use the most current Windows cumulative time zone update to guarantee the consistency of the time zone database on all systems. Since this update supersedes update 933360, which was released in August 2007, it is the most current update.

If you are not in one of those countries, you really do not need it.

nope, don't have office, just microsoft works that came with the pc i have now.
the service isn't there.
the only reason i have word 2000 is that it came as an extra for the works suite, instead of the plain works package.

If thats the case, then you need to allow
microsoft.com in Comodo Firewall .. Or
allow the Windows Update Service in the
Comodo Firewall

I cannot get this update to install. I am using Windows Firewall but I do have a trial version of MS Office 2007 installed. Is there something in Office I need to check or uncheck to get this to install?
