update firmware on SB Live!

Hello ,

something went wrong with my friend's SB Live , windows recognizes it as PCI card, but won't install drivers for it , so he called creative , and they said that it's firmware gone bad , is there any way to update it by yourself , or you'll have to send this sound card back to them ?

From my experience with Creative Labs, their support people just read out of some manual or what not. They had me on hold for the longest time while they are probably flipping through their little manuals. After he came back he told me to send it back to them for flashing of the bios.

Oh, this happened when I flashed my TNT2 U. But, I reflashed it myself after booting with a PCI graphics card and it's been fine for over a year now. I've never heard of upgrading the firmware on a soundcard before though... that's news to me.!
