NOTE: I called the Staples CSR, regarding the Staples MIR, and here is what I was told regarding the rebate.

Send the copy of the UPC and a copy of the HP rebates (which ask for the original UPC) with a note, telling that you can't possibly send two original UPCs. Staples ALWAYS honors these, even when they state they wont. If you get rejected, call the rebate center and they will fix it.


In regards to the HP offers:

Both offers are combinable with other offers, but both also ask for original UPCs. I will call HP from work tomorrow to receive more information about this

EDIT: Forgot to add, I called Staples headquarters, they are emailing store managers sunday morning with messages telling them NOT TO PM PREVIOUS PURCHASES (on the thing, it is awkwardly worded and says "Excludes pre-configured Built-to-Order Notebooks." The guy I talked to pointe this out and said that is what they put in to refuse price matches. They are doing this to stop people like us who buy early to beat the rush and then PM.
Note: my store manager did not know about this yet, yours might not either.

This makes no sense - people can just return their previous purchases within 30 days or so and then get in on this deal - sounds like more hassles for staples than for us - oh well

Oh yeah and yes - this is HOT - now wasn't there also a $50 off $500 somewhere

They are doing this because they don't want a slew of deal-people buying early and removing chance for their in-store customers, who generally buy more. And returning a laptop costs 15% if opened, and by the time you return it the other deal will be gone.

Regarding coupons, they MIGHT let you use one in store. If you're lucky. Their computer systems will not let you do it, because the $200 off is considered "$200 off $1000"

I think it comes preconfigured for 32meg shared but you can set it for 64meg.
