Meh, delete thread 🙂 iPad Air 2 had completely shut off and required a hard reset with both buttons.

Your comment may make little sense to others, but I edited first post, so to clarify I had considered that I had broken the iPad, but instead it just had completely locked up, totally unresponsive. Restarting wasn't possible, but a full reset was.
