My local BEST BUY (Austin, TX) today had Radeon AIW 32MG DDR Retail for $199. They were not on sale as far as I could tell.

I just did a pricewatch search for Radeon All-in-Wonder, and they came up as low as $220 + $10 ground shipping for OEM model.

Now I'm no rocket scientist, but this seems like a pretty darned good deal. I have a Socket 7 MB with a 250 Watt power supply, so I decided not to pick one up for fear of purning out my AGP or PS, but I was itching to just pick one up for when I pony up the cash for a new MB.

Prices may fall, though, but if you are looking for one of these now, give your local Best Buy a call. Maybe the online thing would work too.

UPDATE: I just went back to the BB in question. Those boneheads mislabled the cards. Price is, in fact, $299. They had the AIW in the row for the non-AIW 32MB Radeon, but had no tag for the AIW. The non-AIW tag said $199, but they had no non-AIW cards. I even talked to a Sales dude (on my first trip) there for about 10 minutes, and said "this is the best price I've seen on this card"... and he said something to the effect of cool... you should pick it up, etc. etc. So, not even he was aware of the mix up. On my second trip, I asked "is this really the price". This different sales dude checked, and brought out some new tags to put on the shelves to clarify. They don't even know what the prices are, and they work in that department. Ugh.

My fault and his fault. Very sorry about this. For some reason, BB doesn't put a pricetag on their PC stuff, like they do on DVD's and stuff. UGH. I boneheaded this one.
I've seen the AIW 32MB on Cheezbay for less than 200 bills
today though. I may go that route!

Sorry about that, DOOBIESNACK. Hope your trip wasn't in vain. Maybe you picked on some other good deal that you can inform us about. :)

That's a very cool deal. I tried searching on the Bestbuy.com website to find a SKU or something but they didn't have it.

I'm sorry. I completely forgot to get the SKU#. I didn't even think about posting my finding until I came home and found out that even On-line places are selling the OEM version for $220+.

Man... I really feel like I should go pick one up. I could probably Fleabay one of these for $240 or so. Anyone know if my lame-O socket 7 will fry with this Power Hungry Radeon in there?

coop,

I have a Radeon 32 DDR. I never thought that it ran very hot, though I may be wrong. If anything, the Radeon, when combined with the rest of your system could stress your power supply to the point where your system might experience some stability issues. That said, I'm running a 1GHz tbird on an MSI K7T Pro2 with 3 HDD's (1 of them a 10k rpm SCSI), a 72x Kenwood CD-ROM, 12x burner, the Radeon 32MB DDR & Pinnacle PC TV pro - All on a 250W ATX power suply that was built at least a year before AMD built the Athlon. Your mileage may vary though ;)

Nobody tell my wife, please. hehehehe...

AIW Radeon isn't listed @ BestBuy.com. Hmm, does anyone know if this card has a rebate for it? I know various other ATI cards come with rebates but I'm not sure about this one.

I just called my Westminster, CA best buy. they have the card but it is 299 with a 30 mir. SOMEONE PLEASE CLARIFY this. One company selling the same item in two different "regions" for a great difference in price is an illegal practice is it not? Isn't the term for it "dumping"? Can anyone think of a way to prove this to a Best Buy manager. I just learned about it in my goverment class but I doubt they'll go for it without some proof. ARRG it's gotta be in the law there somewhere. eep! help.

LOL, you bump the thread after you bumped it with your 2 responses 5 minutes afterwards. I think you're missing the point of what bumps are good for ... anyhow, so there is a $30 rebate? Wow, then you can get this for $169 + tax (from $199). That's a great deal!

This sounds to me like a case of a Best Buy employee putting the merchandise or the tag in the wrong place. Sorry, but there is no way that price is correct.

yeah ranger, i know it was silly. I wanted to bump it cause it was "dropping down" and i really need someone to tell me where in the law it states the practice of 1 company selling the same item for a vast difference in price in 2 different regions is illegal. I think it's somewhere in Title 15 of federal law. (lookout ranger this is a bump in disguise)

Argh! Hey Coop, I'm not flamin' ya too bad, but you should have picked it up and looked at it a little more closely. Just got back and the one they have for $199 is NOT the AIW Radeon. The AIW Radeon is $299. Might want to edit the post.

Just came back from my local best buy in Culver City, the only All in Wonder they had for $199 was the AIW 128 or something, the AIW Radeon was still $299, you must have looked at the wrong box.
