you need to take a pic of yourself tugging on the ripped metal, so it looks like you tore it off yourself.

at least it'll make for a funny pic :p

seriously, though, sorry about the damage. who's fault was it?

I swerved into the opposite lane after locking my brakes up after attempting to stop for a car that was ahead of me.

i.e. DainBramaged's Fault

Yeah, they happen to me once. However I only managed to clip off the other drivers passenger side mirror which was very minor to fix. I didn't tear my fender completely off like you did ;). It completely sucks and is almost un controllable, which is why they call them accidents. Sure, we could say you traveled to close the vehicle stopping in front of you, but sometimes cars are forced to squeeze in some circumstances.

But accidents happen to all of us who drive on a daily basis, even the careful ones. Just take it as a learning experience. It could of been worse.

Ahh...hard to tell from the pics.

not really... since ford's box and wheel flares are totally different, not to mention the way it sits next to the back of the cab... but whatever.

Thats actually a better accident from an insurance standpoint due to the fact that it is a loss of control, versus an at fault rear-end. Most at-fault R/e at that kind of speed can result in clmnt inj. And being sued for BI (invloving soft-tissue inj) is not a good experience. Hey in this case you might even argue for promximate cause...:)

imho, there appear to be no marks on the wheel or tire, so the frontend should be OK.
Been awhile since I've had an accident. Knocks on head.
