Well, of course they are gathering and selling a computer component buyer's mailing list, to sell to advertisers.

Slick and sleezy. Because no money changed hands, and probably no firm promises were made, it would be very hard to successful prosecute them. And if any DA won, they'd get a slap on the wrist.
