Looks like the Motorola Droid 2 A955 comes out August 23 with a 1Ghz Texas Instrument processor; Droid vs. Droid 2 benches - for those who don't want a large screen. It also will be able to record in 720p as the HTC incredible will also get this in a firmware update.

720p video recording from a firmware update? No change to the sensor? So it's just upscaling to 720p?

I'm assuming the Incredible has the proper hardware for 720p recording just like the EVO 4G, but perhaps the software wasn't quite ready yet when the Incredible was released. Just a guess.

I think the HTC Desire can already do 720p. It's the same phone. I believe they're just finally enabling it on the Incredible...

Sensor is 5 mp already remember? 720p is only 1 mp. Just needed a faster os and software speedups for the framerate.

Kudos to HTC for actually enabling it via a firmware update. It's always fun to get new features out of your gadgets from software updates.
