Update: BOUGHT a 2000 Lightning

Actually it's got about 5K miles left on the 3 year/36000 mile warranty... better try to break something fast huh?

I wouldn't. It's 3 years/36k miles....WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. Unless you're lucky, most 2000's are over 3 years old.

If you have the VIN number, I can check the in-service date for you. Maybe you're lucky and someone bought it late in 2000.

On this red L I've got 8 days left on the warranty. Well I guess 7 now. Until the 16th. 😉
I seriously doubt this thing will have problems... it's practically brand new.

It's a "manly" thing to be driving a truck. Ego boost. Plus it looks damn nice. I've seen L's pull into parking lots and about 10-15 people go up to the owner and ask him questions about his truck. Plus, you have the utility of a truck if you need to move things plus the speed of a sleek sports car. Plus you can tow boats and sh!t if needed. True, a lot of people don't need a truck, but it's nice having the utility just in case it is needed.

They are sweet and fast trucks. If you are gonna mod it, check out warrentygold.com. My friend got one from them and when he blew the electrical system outta his car when doing a mod they still covered it...

Sorry but you're an idiot. So he carpeted the bed of the truck. Would you want to spend hours getting dirt and other crap out from the carpet of a L? I sure as hell wouldn't. Maybe if you had offered to clean up any mess the rototiller made then sure. One owners personal preference sure as hell doesn't make a Lightning a non truck

I don't like to call a pickup a truck, its a pickup. These aren't usefull as a pickup so NOT a truck it remains.

Well obviously it's payload and towing capacity are reduced from a normal F150, but you don't buy a Lightning as a work truck. That's just stupid. But I guess it's pretty stupid to argue over the definition of what a "truck" is, so oh well 🙂

A Lightning is most certainly a truck. It can't haul as much as a standard F-150, but it can haul more ass.
It can still haul more or tow more than any car. And believe me, some people do haul stuff in the bed and tow things.

So?? If someone chooses not to haul anything in their trucks....so what? Doesn't mean it's not a truck. How many foremen do you see riding around in trucks that don't ever haul anything, but just drive from job site to job site?

An F-150 can't haul as much as an F-250.....so is a 250 "more of a truck" than a 150?
