Is it possible by just updating the BIOS it can fix problems with memory erroring in memtest86? Had a stick of memory that would error in the same spot on the same test that would do it ever 2-3 passes. It was like ever 3 it passed it would error once.

After updating the BIOS it passed 11 times with no errors.

yes it can. BIOS update can fix many problems, such as random BSODs

Is it not a bit risky to update the BIOS if the machine is unstable? I've always wondered if I should revert any overclocking back to stock before updating the BIOS or is that just overkill?

Its a bit of pain though with all the memory timings tuned to the nth degree, especially when I dont trust my spd values :frown:

Your suppose to load default in bios before and after the flash. I think your even suppose to clear CMOS afterwards. Either way on DFI I can save my current BIOS settings before loading defaults. One of the best features DFI offers.

Heck it allows multiple BIOS saves.

No fancy stuff like that with Epox. I have to manually set the fecker each time :(
