Update Bios without FDD? is it possible

Im running an asus a7v8x-x, windows xp without a floppy disk drive, and I dont know how to update the bios without one. Can anyone help.

You can do that in Windows, if Asus includes their "Asus Update" utility on the mobo's support CD. Check and see.

I'm afraid to update bios under windows although lots of folks do. Why not make a bootable cd and add the new bios there if you have a burner? Or is this a dumb idea you've already thought of? Good luck either way!

as they are saying. also, be sure to put on the bootable cd DOS cd drivers. but the windows updater will work fine.

I tried doing the same thing on my MN31/N board. Ended up putting the floppy in but couldn't get it to boot from the floppy, so I made a bootable CD, was kind of scared that I couldn't save the old BIOS tho in case something were to go wrong.

I used the Asus Update on my A7N8X-DX , worked great!

thanx for the advice didn't know about the windows update programs as the manual did mention it, will have a go later through windows, fingers crossed ay!
