Hi all, I have a great challenge for me. My brother will arrive next week from EU here in Brazil and will hand me the GA-B450I-AORUS-PRO-WIFI from Gigabyte along with a Ryzen 5 3400g. As I read, I need bios from F40 or later, but as I read from Amazon comments I don't think I will get it. So I here ask if there is any way I can update it without having to buy an older CPU just for it. I read some motherboards have some ways to update bios only by turning them on and using a pre-formated usb stick.

Can I have any hope here?

Thanks,

matheus

That motherboard does not have that feature.

So unless the motherboard has already been updated to support Ryzen 3000 series, you will need an older supported CPU to boot, take it to a local PC shop to do it for you, or maybe use the AMD Processor Loan Boot Kit: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100

Thank you very much. I may not solve it way too fast, but at least I won't have to buy some CPU just to boot it. I will still try to find any AM4 from friends around, but is really great to know I have a last resort option.

Really thanks!

Just an important Update, the board was able to run the CPU even it now using the latest bios. The bios version was F30. I guess the Zen+ is ok on B450 boards not updated. I don't think the Zen2 chips will have the same luck.

Thanks,
