I have an update here that has to do with ACPI and WinNT 5.0 (Win2K)... dunno if I should try.

I need to contact someone who has a good knowledge of socket 7 mobos. My problem is already posted here. I want ACPI and cpu support.. right now my ACPI is messed up.. is there an update that works with both?

If you're wanting the correct voltages for the K6-3 Plus CPU, you need to perform the bios flash using an older K6 CPU, to avoid damaging the CPU chip. Once the new bios is flashed, the K6-3 Plus should be recognized & correct voltages enabled.
If your bios.bin file is an update to the existing bios, then yes, you can flash the bios using a Win98 (or similar) boot floppy. On a Win98 (not WinME or Win2000) machine: Start/Run/"command", which opens a Dos box. Type "format a: /s", which makes the floppy bootable. Close Dox box & copy Awdflash.exe and *bios.bin file to floppy. Reboot with floppy, run "Awdflash *(bios file).bin".
Win2000 will automatically install the ACPI support, as long as ACPI is enabled in bios; just edit the ACPI bios settings. This will then require re-installing Win2000, because simply changing from non-ACPI to ACPI-enabled in Window's Device Manager won't work.
