Update bios and keep the raid?

Greetings

I'm in need of some help here if some cind soul is willing I'd be very glad.

I just bought a new cpu, but I can not use it. It's 45nm cpu, intel dual core. I have a asus p5b-e motherboard.

The problem is that I need to upgrade the bios, but if I do that, I fear that my raid will be lost.

Is there a way to upgrade the bios without upgrading the raid so that I dont lose all my data and current raid?

OS: win vista ultimate 64bit.

Thanks

Updating the BIOS will not effect the RAID array.
When you flash a BIOS, the new BIOS is installed with everything set to default.
You have to reconfigure everything, RAID included.
When you do that the old array will work.

If you're brave enough, you can use Asus Update.
Asus Update flashes the BIOS under Windows and has a setting to retain all your current BIOS settings.

Oho... Then I will take a backup of the bios, download the latest bios to some disks and flash my bios, if everything worked... reset the raid to what I now have it at. Then shutdown and install the new cpu.. 🙂

Thanks
