Update BFG 6600GT bios

Is there anyone out there that update their video card bios as a regular thing like updating your mobo bios? I got a first generation BFG 6600gt and it keeps getting this not enough power error, it could be the bios...also, does anyone know how to do it from a CD instead of a floppy as i dont have a floppy

What kind of power supply do you have? that card needs a pretty beefy +12v line.

I have no problems with my enermax 350 but it's got 26amps on the +12v 🙂

I've updated the video card bios on several ATI and NVIDIA cards before, using a bootable floppy; that's the easiest way. Nero has an option for making a bootable CD. Or, a bootable USB memory stick is also a possibility.
I'd recommend keeping an older PCI video card around. In case of problems, you can swap the monitor connection to the PCI video card, and then re-flash the other (AGP or PCI-e) video card.
