uh, agrall, I got it for 164+ shipped after rebate from staples couple of days ago. I cancelled the order cuz I only have enough cash to buy either the monitor or a GF4 4200 vid card. It's a great deal for ppl that needs a monitor.

Doh! That was my deal... It's the first step in a new system build for me...

My 17" monitor died, so I was looking for a new monitor anyhow, and my entire system seems to be on its last legs, so I am planning on building a new system in a couple of weeks.

I think that it's DELL, but if other ppl are getting it from Staples, is it a coupon making it cheaper or what??? I guess I'll have to go see if it's on the website now... I know that Samsung doesn't have a rebate form on their website, so I think that it's probably just DELL.

man...wish that AMEX had kept the BVG program for regular card holders...I never even got in on it...[/whine] 😀

 
I found that the rebate is from Samsung. This will be cheaper for Amex Optima members.

Call Amex to PM with this place for $200

if you can pull that PM off WITHOUT having to add the shipping on, then that would be HOT! but I fear for NONAmex members, they will have to add shipping to go instore and PM that. 🙁 Anyway, if you could also put a coupon on there...WOW! THAT would make it VERY HOT!

so how does one get it for 164 shipped AR?? my total came out to be $250 with the 10%off and shipping. so after the rebate, it's $200. staples has it for $270 but if you PM it to DELL, they'll still tack on that overnight shipping charge.

and if this is a samsung rebate, how come staples doesn't show it on their website that there is a manufacturer rebate on the monitor?
 
I figure that since this rebate lasts for a long time, I'll just wait until DELL does another week of free shipping and like 20% off periph's or something insane like that! 😀 hehehehe

they won't reject you if you are their customer for a long time. I've been their customer for 6 years and I can get any card quickly. Now I have 3 cards in my pocket and going to cancel my Blue.
 
Regarding the $50 rebate ... the form states that the original sales recept is needed. I requested one from Dell but received a form which looks like an invoice, but then in blue block letters across the form it reads "This is not an invoice". The packing slip is just that, a packing slip, not an invoice. What are you guys using for an official invoice ? I'm a bit worried ... especially since its going to New Rochelle

I order mine when the $50 off $400 coupon was available. Order a replacement video card for a customer and a game and used the 10% off software & peripherals. When all is said and done the monitor cost me $111.00.

You can get the 955df at Staples for 180 shipped if samsung will honor a rebate from a staples purchase. Its listed at 270- $40 off 200 coupon- $50 rebate + free shipping on over $50.oo= 180 shipped... not bad.
 
Christ! I just threw out my box and the garbage and recyclers came this morning. Oh well.

I know that there is a review out there of this monitor but I thought I would point out that this monitor really stinks at 1280x1024. The refresh rate is pathetically low at this resolution and you can forget about using it at 1600x1200. I also do not like the way that the screen jiggles a little when you open something really white (like a window) on a dark background.

However, at the prices that people are getting for these I would say this makes for a mean deal. At 1152x864 (85Hz) the screen looks really nice and the flatness is not as nice as trinitron but fairly awesome for the price range. Just my opinion is all...

I'd really like to get into a store and compare the TRINITRON vs. this tube. then see how cheap Dell is letting Trinitrons go for! 😉

Poncherelli that isn't too bad...I wonder if there's a possible PM in there somewhere to bring it down somemore? 😀
