I was thinking about this the other night while looking at cases my wife wants to put her upcoming rig into, and I think if we all get together with these paperweights, we can somehow put them to use (perhaps the Latvian military has an extra purchase order they're itching to justify, or the 'cause' of experimental art could be furthered by the innards, or «AS&S» would buy a lot wholesale to sell), or possibly turn a profit...

Maybe I can over-clock the Powersupplies too?? :D

I can almost bet you that if you claim to, and/or mod them in any way (a single LED and some cool stickers would have some reaching for their wallets), you could turn a decent profit on Ebay. Where else can you still do business charging 500% shipping and unequivocally imposing handling and insurance fees?

Right Ike... I have a box FULL pf power supplies. All of them pretty much new. Back when you "needed" a 300w PS, cases came with 200's. Now that we "need" 400-450's, they come with 300's.

What gives? LOL.

No kidding, I have no less than 6 virtually unused PS's.

myocardia, after I got the system up and running last night as posted above, I downloaded 3dmark03 and ran it. I got around 5700 so I'm assured all 8 pipes are working.

And I'll probably just live with the 50c temps as that's really nothing to worry over. I'm in no way going to install some annoying fan just to cool my cpu. I can't stand loud computers... which is mostly why I bought the big cooper HS and 92mm fan. Pretty quiet and efficient cooling, even for a desent OC.
