Need more info to provide any ideas.

1. Operating system? (Last time installed?)

2. Power supply model (how old?)

3. Did the games ever run good on the system? If so, when did they begin to run badly?

4. How long have you owned the video card?

Try a one-month old restore point and see if anything changes.

If not, your gpu might be overheating. Have you tried any temp monitoring software?

Yep I have afterburner...Its running at 58° load..34° idle..No artifacts or bsod..Games are just a slide show..I fully intend on getting a polaris xt or 1070 whichever is the better value..Restore didn't work either sadly

Used my friends son's 370 and it only boots 1 out of 4 tries or so..Shows the new win 10 bsod :( Sorry your PC has run into errors and needs to restart. When you retsrt it goes into repair mode, but does nothing..Guessing my ssd was slowly dying?..Any thoughts...oh and it won't stay up for long before it will bsod again after a rare boot

What model hard drive do you have? There are utilities that can be run that will let you know if your hard drive is in bad shape, and is likely to fail.

What about swapping the PSU out and trying another one? Did your friend let you do that?

How difficult would a re-install be (everything)? I personally would try that before swapping more parts.

Did it just start doing it? Are you overclocking it all? The reading could be incorrect, but maybe the CPU is shutting off to prevent overheating if it really is that hot. You have something going on with your system. Power problem, heat issue (CPU), flaky motherboard, something.

If the clean OS reinstall doesn't fix it, you will need to do some serious troubleshooting to find the issue. I just haven't felt your issue was software related, but I have been wrong before.....many times according to my wife. ;)

That could explain your games only running at 20FPS, if the CPU is thermal-throttling.

What kind of CPU cooler do you have? If it's the stock cooler, then one of the plastic mounts may be broken, and the cooler may need to be replaced.

If it's the stock cooler, and it comes loose again, then the plastic may be fatigued or broken, and you probably want to replace the cooler altogether. If you have a CoolerMaster 212-family cooler, that's a good replacement, especially if you want to OC. Just dont forget that particular cooler has a backplate, and may require removing the entire motherboard to install it.
