UPDATE 2: GOOD NEWS! I am scared, and I need your wishes of good luck :(

Got a math final tomorrow morning at 11 A.M. Studied all the past tests, past homeworks, study guides, class notes... everything. But I am still scared that I won't get the grade I want. My current average in the class is 91.6 and I need to get a 94 to get an A. You probably are thinking, why are you worried about getting an A or A-, but the thing is, I want to switch majors, and the major I am applying to requires a 3.0/4.0 GPA. I need to get an A in this class to bump my GPA to 3.0.

For the last 2 semesters, I did everything I needed to increase my GPA from low 2.x to 3.0 and this is the end. If I fail, I don't know what I am gonna do. My parents pay for my tution/rent and I don't want to stay in school more than 4 years and be a PITAS for them.

Just wanted to open myself about it as I feel really bad right now.

After test update: I think I did pretty well, there were 31 multiple choice questions and 2 free response questions. I think I should get the score I want 🙂
And btw, although some of you suggested that I should sleep and get some rest before the final, I didn't, and went over all the problems 2 more times, I think that helped 🙂
Thanks again for all the supportive replies people.

Got my grade update: Good news, I kicked some major Math ass 🙂 100% on the final!!! So I got a 96% as my final grade = A.

So happy right now 🙂 Thanks a lot to all of you that read this thread and supported me, now its party time

Relax. All anyone can ask is that you do your best. It sounds like you're well prepared.

Good luck. 🙂

G'luck. At least my final tomorrow has zero pressure for me...I can't bring my grade up and all I need is a C or better on the final to get my B. 🙂

stop neffing, start studying.

Studied everything the course provided me 🙁

I think the only thing that is going to mess my concentration is the pressure 🙁

Thanks for all the wishes of good luck people, really means a lot even though I know none of you 🙂

Best of luck to you.

But even if you don't make it, that does not mean you failed! To pull your average from a low 2 up to a 3 (or just missing a 3) in two semesters is a genuine achievement. Just because you might not make the magical 3.x doesn't mean you failed.

If you don't make it to 3.x, go to the dean, explain how motivated you are to improve and that you have two semesters of good grades to prove it, and ask him to let you in to the program even if you barely miss the 3.x. I practically guarantee you'll get in if you are sincere.

It's not the end, either way.

Hey, my sister just called me - on Thanksgiving she was very sure that she was going to fail Biology. She got her grade today - B!

Good Luck to you!! cause i bombed my math final today.. 😉

may the force be with you! errr... sorry just watched star wars.

I need that luck too
math test tomorrow at 11:45am!
hey bro, you have got a company 😀
do more problems!!!! you really can't study for math except doing it. wish you the best of luck! 🙂

Man, now I'm happy to get B's...found out today I got a B in my grad math class. What stinks is I didn't so good on the final and thus barely missed an A.

But I'm really just thankful I passed. Hopefully I passed my other classes too.😀

Well if your parents pay tuition for you, couldn't you get a student loan or something for the last semester if you end up going to college for 4.5 years?

Not meant to be an insult, good luck.

I really don't want to take a student loan, I am debt free and I want it to stay that way.

Do you think talking to the dean will make a difference? I already submitted my transfer application and they are holding it for this class' grade. The dean is out of office until December 20th and I am leaving the country on the 18th for my internship. Do you think contacting him through his email and explaining him why my GPA was lower earlier in my college career will help? I know he must be getting tons of emails because he is the dean of College of Business at Virginia Tech, pretty big department you know.

I think a phone call will be better than an email for something like this. If there is any way you can talk to him instead of writing, I'd do it.

One way would be to set up an appointment now with his secretary, explaining that you will be out of the country when the dean returns and would like to make an appointment so that you won't miss him when you call.

I think that would show a lot of initiative on your part, to make the effort to call while out of the country. Perhaps you could even tell the secretary what you will be calling about. It might generate some sympathy and you might even get some unofficial help on how to pursue it.

Alright, I guess I will try to call him as you said. Hopefuly he will understand and give special consideration for my situation 🙁

Thanks again Kranky.
