*UPDATE* (100% complete) Whew.. critique my poster! Just spent 4 hours on it.

here.

Not bad for someone with very basic photoshop skill, eh? 😉

It's not completed yet, as you can see I need to put in the contact info on bottom right. (And just in case you're wondering, I'm the dude with the glasses resting on my forehead.)

Feedback/constructive criticism please.

[edit]
It is now completely done. Check it out.

Looks nice, I'm not blown away by your choice of fonts. You should probably have set it up in Quark or InDesign. Nice overall.

I wasn't 100% content with Times New Roman, it doesn't quite feel like it's sitting on the white paint and looks out of place. And all other fonts seemed even worse... hmmm.

Why Quark or InDesign? The original resolution is about 3000x5000 in 67mb, if you're referring to the lack of resolution/size/quality.

No, not a resolution thing, a layout thing. You edit the images in PS and then bring them into Quark or InDesign, and then you can really start working with fonts and layout options. 🙂

I think it looks nice. I would put something to go between the pictures however. Just a block edge doesnt make it flow as good as it could. Overall I would give it a 9, and I work at a church so I see lots of lame posters.

What brush did you use? custom?

Only thing that sticks out for me is the area between the white blips for "fun" and "laughter."

The seam of the images there looks obtrusive. (Just above the guy's head.)

Know what I mean?

one of the dotted brush that came with it. it's hard to find actually, out of all the similiar brushes in photoshop, only this one can pull off that nice bleeding effect.

Hmm, well, here we go...

the only problem i have with it is the whole idea of the poster. showing only pictures of only asians (koreans i presume) and calling yourself the korean american community for bible study. sure you may say anyone is welcome to join, but seriously, how many non korean people do you have in the group? and if there is one, why didnt you put him/her in the poster? has christianity evolved and branched into different sects, one for koreans, one for caucasions, one for chinese, etc? isnt christianity supposed to be blind to race? i'm not christian and i may be way off base here, but i dont think bible studies grouped by race quite follows the ideals that christianity teaches.

just my opinion. *prepares for flames*

lol...you guys are classic.

Yeah, can you critique my Poster.

sure...your church is a hypocrite

lol

Actually, there are Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Black, Hispanic, and mostly White Baptist Churches. Each has it own outreach to its community. A Korean who doesnt speak English will not fair so well at a mostly White church, so they started Korean Baptist churches for this reason. It is a language barrier, not a religion or racist, as well as worship style. Whites are more conservative, Blacks are more of the bring out the tamborine and be floor floppers.
