Man I've been delaying buying a board for so long, I have a QX6700 here, and want to jump in but I want the perfect motherboard. I've been waiting for the DFI RD600 but that isn't coming out for a while. SLI/Crossfire don't appeal to me so no importance there. Then I was waiting for the 650i for some reason I wanted it but the Asus version might have a 412.5 limit. So I go to the home page and read the CES preview article, so many nice boards coming out.
The DFI RD600 was being discussed. Asus has that P965 Commando (although I think it'll be overpriced like their Striker), they mentioned receiving and reviewing the P5N-E SLI but users should be reviewing that shortly.
Gigabyte has their 680i board coming out, looks nice! But the one that caught my eye was the abit AB9 QuadGT based on the p965 chipset. I always prefer an intel chipset if it can be, it looks nice and they fix some of the component layout problems of the pro.
Intel released new power guidelines for the quad-cores, so manufacturers are releasing the 2nd gen 965 and 3rd gen 975 boards. They didn't say the older boards won't work, just releasing the new ones.
But all of these won't release until January arggghhhh. Well I guess I'll just enjoy the holidays and buy one next year, and just use my laptop and game on the PS3 until then!
Anyone else excited about January though?
