Upcoming IBM Laptops?

I'm getting a laptop in July, and i've narrowed it down to 2 choices..

Dell and IBM

This is because i don't live in the USA but i'm buying it off the internet and shipping it to my friend that lives in the US who is coming to visit me in August. So i'll need international warranty that both dell and IBM have (i've checked with the stores that "own" the dell/ibm brand labels here in Iceland to make sure).

I'm really hot for the radeon 9600 vid card in the dell machine but, well.. You know.. IBM just has that class over the Dell.. But i don't find the video card options on IBM laptops very exciting (ATI 7500 32mb *ough*) so i'm wondering if anyone knows if they are introducing any new models by July? Maybe a longshot but worth the try 🙂

i just found out that the T line has 9600 graphics, i always went for the R in the customizer because it says "The new ThinkPad R51 is available with outstanding 3D graphics performance" under it.. kind of misleading

hehe.. they mean the FireGL T2. Which is also found in the T41p btw - it's similar to a mobility 9600.

Any IBM, even a 2-year-old T23 would be better than anything Dell has to offer.

The FireGL T2 is basically a 128mb Radeon 9600 geared towards CAD work and the like.
I'm waiting to receive my T42 with a 64mb 9600 =T...

i'm also planning to get a laptop soon, but by the look of it it seem like that the new ATI X600 Mobliitiy cards are coming out soon with the AXION technologies, which make it seem better to wait. Since you can upgrade the video cards later on.

I only know of one company that allows upgrading.
