upate on the weird maxtor hd that refuses to format...

ok so i ran the maxtor diagnosis and quick test says its all good.

theres an option for a low-level format so im trying that right now.

then ill run advanced tests and if everythings' ok hopefully it should format...

if it doesnt thats an RMA...
 
ok i actually got a factory certification that the HD is 100% ok after completing all the tests.

I formatted overnight with no problems and just finished installing Win2k ! 🙂

So thanks to all of those who helped me, particularly Rick for the diagnosis program!
