up2date problem with ReiserFS...

Whenever I try to update it works perfectly until the point where it starts to download the packages, and then results in a segfault error.

I think this is a problem with ReiserFS because running on ext3 works fine. I'm running Fedora Core 3 x86-64. However, yum still works fine.

It seems unlikely to me that the choice of filesystem would segfault up2date. Not impossible, but unlikely. What I have seen with RH/Fedora boxes with these symptoms are prelink problems. Try a prelink -a and see if that helps anything. If you have strace installed, that might be useful too (though I'm not sure I'd be make sense of it personally). Have you checked the Fedora boards or IRC?
