Which 'future' things and gadgets portrayed in cinema make you happy that they never actually got made or went mainstream?

For example, I am soooo happy we are not using the three seashells (yet?) in 2008. You can pry my toilet paper from my cold wet hands... And how do you blow your nose with three seashells? And what about the women? Did no one in Hollywood think of the women? It's not like they can just shake-shake-shake, shake-shake-shake, shake their booty after peeing

When it comes to flying cars, while I tend to like the idea, the sober second thought makes me recognize that accidents would mean vehicles falling from the sky and landing too often on our houses whereas accidents currently have an impact limited to the road/street except in rare occasions. Would you trust a teenager with a flying car? A hoverboard maybe but definitely not a flying car.
