If you decide to root your phone, look for an app called "SDX Stock App Remover." It will let you backup and then remove (and later restore, if you choose) any stock app that came with your phone. You won't find this app on the Market (there are others that are, but I've not used them), but it's out there and it works. One note of warning: if your phone is still under warranty and you need to send it in for repairs (mine was and I did), you'll have to restore your stock apps and unroot the phone to keep the manuf. from voiding your warranty. However, if you are out of warranty, have at it! The fact that Android phones are subsidized leaves them bloated with more of the manuf. and carrier's crap than anyone would want or need. I have removed nearly every stock app that came with my AT&T Moto Bravo and it's joy to use now.
