Unversal USB micropne adapter xbox369 rock band ?

My kids severed the USB connecter from the cord of the microphone for their Rock Band Xbox360 setup . I know nothing about this system and am looking for a good solution . I could get a generic repalcement microphone at fleabay to $15-20. However I was thinking about trying a USB microphone universal adapter - like http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=HE-280B&cat=GDT - only a few $ at fleabaly and using a better quality microphone ( already have a couple ) - Thanks

I'd be hesitant to say that works since most adapters like that require drivers, which the 360 obviously couldn't install. With RB though you can use any mic that can plug into the controller as well including the cheapo headset it comes with. You could use that until you find a replacement, or you could possibly find an adapter that goes from standard mic port to the smaller MS port on the controller.

I can't speak for the 360, but the PS3 version will accept any USB microphone, and I can't see how the drivers for a usb microphone would be any different from a usb to mic adapter.

Don't hold me to it, but I thought the same was true of the 360 version. I agree that the USB to mic adapter will probably work.

I'm not sure about the USB adapter, but there are a couple of other options if you are interested in picking up a karaoke game for not much more than the cost of a microphone. The Disney Sing It bundle is only $23 at Amazon or there's the American Idol Encore bundle for $30. Both of these contain a Logitech USB microphone that works fine with Rock Band.
