Unusually high case temps

40c would be too high for my comfort. Buy a thermometer and leave it it the case for half an hour... Should tell you if ur Abit is wrong. By the way, what is your cpu temp?

CPU is idling right now at 48 C with my CNPS7000Cu on it at max speed. At load, it reads 55 C.

BTW, the case temp is 41 C now. I live in San Diego so the room temp is max 80 F (too lazy to convert to C).

F to C: subtract 32 degrees then divide by 1.8
C to F: mulitply by 1.8 then add 32
in this case your room temp is:26.66

where are you getting the temp readings from? bios temps usually are misleading.

ABIT EQ which reads off bios. I'd just like to know how misleading... because having the case on and having Abit telling me that my case temp is 50 C is just wrong that it's scary. I just want to know what the real temp is how much I should adjust for Abit's retardedness.

my bios always says my cpu temp is like 70 on idle. i use speedfan for temps and then motherboard monitor 5 for verification. your temps shouldnt be that hot with a 7000cu. and my room is around 78f.

Well I'm confused as to what it says. Why do I have two Temp1s? And how do I have a temp sensor for one HD, but not the other. They're both WD Caviar SE's.

Speedfan and memtest use the same sensors as any other software, so using different software isn't gonna be any more reliable...if your temps are higher with the case closed, you probably have an air flow problem. How many fans do you have, and what direction are they blowing?

One front case fan at the bottom blows in, one on the back that sucks out.
