Unusual high temp ?

Hi
My new build is running since two days and I've been using CoreTemp to monitor the CPU temperature.
Idle it's around 41~43 and when running games like GRAW, it goes to 65~70...

I don't know why it goes soo high temperature. Im using the stock heatsink and I checked, the pushpins (stupid pushpins) are properly seated...

I also heard that I have to -10 on the stated temperature by the software to get the real temp... really ?

Im worried about the unstable temp... since I don't plan to overclock anything and I won't play hardcore games like Crysis... just having fun with BF2, COD4 and GRAW, consequently I don't want to spend more money on a new heatsink..

Suggestions or comments ?

Thx!

43 idle for CoreTemp is not really that high (I am assuming your Tjmax is 95). 65 load is also fine.
The most useful information thought would be to state what cpu you are using.

I still dont think you have an issue . My e8400 is at 54C rite now on idle with 105Tjmax, so to match 95Tjmax which some other programs use, it would also be about 44C.
If yours is at 43C with 105Tjmax then it is actually pretty darn cool I'd say.

change your coretemp display to show distance to tjmax. keep that over 20c and you're fine. it sounds like you're closer to 35c at load so no worries.

sry about my noobiness , but what is tjmax ?

EDIT: ok the reason why CoreTemp is unacurate is that it confuses with the new 45nm cpu, so I got RealTemp and now it's shows a nice 30C idle and a 65-70 dist to Tjmax

thx guys for ur help really appreciated
