I have a Ibm 75gxp 46Gb for 6 months working perfectly with no problems. Last week when I was trying to play a specific mp3 the hdd will make a clunking sound and repeated the damn sound until I restarted cause it kept my pc frozen. I went to Win2k's event log to see what is happening and I see "Primary Disk0 has a bad sector". I run Norton Dick Doctor in Win98 to do a thorough surface scan. In 3% in makes the same sound until I restart. I run Scandisk and when it arrives at the sector it makes the same sound and locks up the pc. I can't fix the damn sector with any program!! I ran IBm DriveFitness Utls but it has to erase all the data before fixing the bad sector.

Is there any program that can fix bad sector effectiely without erasing all my data or is this a really bad bad sector?
