unstable performance in LAN games .

I am currently using realtek RTL8139(A) for my athlonXP 1800+ and my pentium 3 733 ,when playing diablo 2 LoD sometime getting problem like "fast forward" effect ,can I do something like change the setting for make my LAN game more stable ?

We get that problem all the time. It usually happens to our Diablo II network game when there is a lot going on screen at one time and there is a slow machine in the game. I think its because Diablo II syncs the game between all the machines, which causes the faster machines in the game to fast forward.

Not a very good explaination, but don't worry about it anyway.

That might help, if everyone else does the same thing, and everyone else has the same speed computer. Like the poster above said, the game engine seems to try and sync the game between all the machines, so the slowest machine on the network is going to make the others really slow, when it slows way down, you machine will slow way down and "fast forward" to catch up when the slow down is done. Add in network latency when you have 5 or 6 people all in the same room with about 100 things coming after you, and it will do that no matter how good your network is.
