unresponsive log on screen at startup

windows will start up normally but noe in the log in screen, it will lock up or run so slowly, text lags many seconds behind. noe in windows, a error message pops up

lvcomsx.exe is not operating normally, had to be terminated blah blah blah, ok to terminate, cancel to debug.

then, ms...(that spam killer server app from mcafee and mcafee security center togeether hog 100% of cpu cycles until i terminate the spam killer process.) btw, spam killer is disabled.

it works normally from then on...

how to fix this?
