Zuni, sorry for the trouble, but I subscribed back in November but accidentally closed the window looking for my password before I confirmed. I sent two emails to subscriber@anandtech.com but have neither heard anything nor am I able to log in as a subscriber. My credit card was debited. Hate to be a bother, but are you sure the email address works. Any suggestions?

Your password for the "Subcriber Network" is the same as the one for your user account. If your subsciber account is set up properly you should be redirected to the subscriber server login page when you log on to the forums.

If you aren't being redirected to the subscriber server when you log in then that's what needs to be fixed. :)

I know Tony. My account's not set up properly because I wasn't able to confirm since I accidently closed the window.

so basicly you paid, but your subscription is not attached to your forum name in any way since the window was closed before you could type in your information. Sounds like they would need a transaction ID to make sure you paid and then just connect it to your forum name.

Maybe AT needs more than one person to do this. a mod replied that Anand himself handles all the subscription problems. He already has too much on his plate and should hire someone to handle problems like this. This is an insanely easy problem to fix :(

Well I sent the transaction number in email twice. I figured he probably really is very busy, but, since like you said, since I was told he does this himself, I was worried that maybe in three months my emails got lost or something. The real problem is that I could sure use the better search feature sometimes. Anyway, would like some word on what's up and if there's anything else to do but wait more.

Hi moonbeam, actually anand handles all the subscriptions personally i'll forward this on to him, it should not have taken this long at all its usually a 2-3 day turn around at most.

Zuni, were you able to mention this? I still can't log on to subscriber and I made the mistake of reinstalling windows without saving my email. I don't think I have my confirmation number any more, but I sent it in I think twice to Subscriber@anandtech.com when I wrote the first two times to try and fix this. Sorry for the trouble.

You didn't send Anand a cryptic email like most of your posts did you? That could be slowing him down ;)

j/k and wanted to bump this for you.

A little OT...

Just renewed my subscriber's account after running off the free servers since december. Damn, I forgot how much of a difference it makes.

Thanks again, guys, for a wonderful service.

Hope your issue gets cleared up soon, moonbeam. :)

No, the trouble was started because I stupidly closed a window instead of minimizing it and as a result have caused a busy person to waste his time talking care of a dodo. :D

Edit: I wouldn't worry about it except I really could use the search function, some times, to find stuff.

Edit: I do appreciate the kind words though.

First of all I'd like to apologize for the delay in setting up your account, this long of a delay is unacceptable and I greatly appreciate your patience throughout the matter. Your account should be active now, and if you could send me your iBill transaction id number I will make sure you receive a full refund for your troubles.

Thanks and take care,
Anand

Hehe, I just got a request to log on as a subscriber. A big thanks. No apology necessary at all. It was my mistake and I compounded it by reformatting without saving my email. It's possible I have the ID on a machine I'm not using at the moment. I don't know which I was using at he time, and I have the charge somewhere on my credit card bill, but it doesn't matter. I don't want a refund. It's not a problem at all. Just glad to be a subscriber and be able to use the better search feature again. Thanks again and sorry for the trouble. Your web site is a real service to the computing community and the forum is a wonderful chance for all of 'forumers' to share ideas and be exposed to other points of view. It's not only fun but a great privilage to participate.
