After much web reading, I have yet to find an authoritative answer stating whether ASUS and/or ABIT motherboards incorrectly report core temperatures. People say that ABIT reports high and ASUS reports low. I want to OC my 3.2E Prescott on a P4P800-E but am warry of doing so since some people are saying ASUS will often report less-than-correct temps.
My MB is showing a full-load temp of 53º and an idle of 42º, and I want to keep the full-load below 65. If I increase the core voltage and bump up to 233MHz, should I still trust the temperature readings?? If not, is there a fool-proof way to measure the core temp?
