Well recently I have upgraded my 2 computer network. Before upgrade I was running a simple 10bt with cossover cable network. Now I am using a Linksys 5-port switch running at 100bt full duplex mode.
The problem is that when ever I try to play UT over the lan (or even the internet) on my main computer it locks the system totally and must be rebooted. However single player works fine on my machine and every thing works fine on the other machine. I am very much stumped on this one I have tried reinstalling UT and the latest patch but to no avail.
The only thing I can think that could be causing this is the network. Everything worked fine before I upgraded my network. However when I upgraded I did have this problem with getting it up and running and the only way to fix it was to uninstall the NetBEUI protocol completely. Now I am running with only TCP/IP and IPX/SPX as my network protocols. All of my settings are set for automatic assignments in TCP/IP.
Also my internet connection is ADSL that is connected through the uplink port on the switch.
If anyone can help.....PLEASE DO
