This has to be one of the strangest things that I've encountered in my many years of dealing with computers, perhaps you all will be able to make something more useful of it than myself. I've just upgraded my computer platform, clean installed everything, and am proceeding to get very strange occurances in UT. For instance, I map the keys the way I normal play, with EDSF for forward/back/left/right movement, and leftmouse/right mouse for primary/secondary fire. All of the keys work except the forward and the secondary fire, which all do nothing. They are not mapped twice, and the functions work mapped to other keys. I am using the same version as before (v436 w/ Tactical Ops B2), same OS (WindowsXP RTM), same everything with the exception of hardware.
My other problem is less significant, however annoying none the less. My framerate hovers around 75fps and doesn't go above that. Now, it rarely drops below that either because the system can easily handle it (was getting 120+ before) and it started doing this for no apparent reason. (My roomate's comp does it too, totally different hardware and everything) V-sync is disabled for OpenGL, but that shouldn't matter since I'm in D3D mode and the drivers don't give option to disable V-sync in this mode, and my refresh rate is at 85Htz to begin with. Anyhow, here is my hardware config:
Tyan Tiger MP
2 Athlon XP 1500's
1 GB Registered PC2100 DDR
GeForce2 GTS 64MB (not overclocked at the moment)
SB Live!
Promise u100
3com NiC
2 HD's & 2 CDROM's
Has anyone experienced similar problems or perhaps know what is to blame? Any help, even left field ideas would be greatly appreciated, this is my favorite multiplayer FPS! Thanks guys!
